New display. Veterans Wall of Appreciation

In celebration of 238 years of independence and in honor of the Founding Fathers who fought for that independence and to our Veterans who have preserved it for us all. The Bessemer Hall of History Museum wishes to celebrate Independence Day... by recognizing your family members, who served in the United States Armed Forces, by placing a card in honor or in memory on the wall of appreciation. This display will be up for the entire month of July to give everyone a chance to show appreciation to as many as possible. Come by the museum to add a name or to read the names and show appreciation during this celebration of Americas' Independence.

Bessemer Prom Night REMEMBER...

In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Movement the Bessemer Hall of History Museum held an open house on April 4, 2013, the anniversary date of Martin Luther King, Jr's death.

The unveiling of the Cell Block Door from the Bessemer Jefferson County Jail, in which Dr. King was incarcerated in October 1967 was the highlight of the evening.
